Liberty gets past Warriors

LIBERTY 52, BROOKFIELD 48: LIBERTY — Despite an 11-point fourth quarter, the Leopards were able to edge-out the Warriors. Andre Bowers had four of the team’s seven 3-pointers, as he finished with a team-high 14 points.

Brian Hiner’s double-double was not enough to beat the Leopards. Hiner had 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Nate Smoot added 17 points of his own.

CANFIELD 55, HOWLAND 48: HOWLAND — The Cardinals made 16 of 20 free throws in the win. Zach Tinkey made all six of his free throws, and led the team with four 3-pointers. Tinkey finished with 24 points for the Cardinals (2-1, 1-0 All-American Conference Red Tier).

Howland (0-2, 0-1) scored just 21 second-half points. Nate Leventis had 16 points, while Connor Tamarkin made 6 of 7 free throws for 10 points.

GIRARD 59, CAMPBELL 45: GIRARD — The Indians led, 20-6, at the end of the first quarter. Anthony Graziano made seven field goals for 17 points, while Mark Waid also had seven baskets, for 15 points.

The Red Devils trailed by 14 at the end of the first quarter. Hicks scored 17 points and Edwards scored 16.

STRUTHERS 63, HUBBARD 53: HUBBARD — The Eagles went just 3 of 15 from beyond the arc. Nick Ferrara made all of those three’s, as he led the team with 14 points.

Struthers made 18 ofr 27 free throws, as Carbon made 6 of 8 for 20 points. Leonard, meanwhile, made all four of his free throws for 12 points.

ST. VINCENT-ST. MARY 72, URSULINE 55: YOUNGSTOWN — St. Vincent-St. Mary’s Javon Graves had 25 points to lead his team past host Ursuline.

Justin Sampson had 16 points, while Lundon McDay added 13 for SV-SM (2-0).

Dakota Hobbs led Ursuline (2-1) with 17 points, while Vince Venzio had 16 and Anthony Howell added 12.
