JFK opens with close loss to Farrell

FARRELL 62, KENNEDY 59: FARRELL, PA. — Kennedy was outscored, 20-12, in the fourth quarter. Justin Bofenkamp made nine field goals for 21 points, while Byron Taylor added 15 points of his own.

The Steelers outscored the Eagles by eight points in the fourth quarter. Jarrett Merrett led the way with 17 points, while Nylan Hosey and Kyi Wright had 14 points apiece.

LABRAE 71, BRISTOL 51: STRUTHERS — The Vikings outscored the Panthers, 22-7, in the fourth quarter. Tariq Drake had three 3-pointers for 19 points, while Logan Kiser added 13 points for LaBrae (2-0).

Bristol (2-1) trailed by five points, heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Panthers were held to just seven points in the final period. Landon Slusher had 17 points and Tommy Donadio added 15.

URSULINE 54, FITCH 38: AUSTINTOWN — The Irish pulled away from the Falcons in the fourth quarter, 16-7. Ursuline made six 3-pointers, led by two each from Anise Algahmee and Trace Leonard. Leonard had 12 points and Algahmee had 10.

Fitch made just 6 of 12 free throws in the loss. Dylan Berry led the way with 10 points.

GARFIELD 55, BROOKFIELD 47: BROOKFIELD — The G-Men (1-0) outscored the Warriors, 20-14, in the final period. Ryan Brown made four 3-pointer and 5 of 6 free throws for 21 points.

Brookfield (2-2) was led by Brian Hiner’s double-double of 13 points and 12 boards.
