Harding, Howland girls win
HARDING 67, SHARON 26: SHARON, PA. — The Raiders shot nearly 50% from the field and made 9 of 10 free throws. Harding led, 41-14, at the half. Kia Allen made 10 buckets for 23 points, while Chardonnay Burke had 14 points and a team-best four assists.
Sharon did not score more than eight points in any quarter. Alaina Williamson made four shots for nine points.
HOWLAND 54, CANFIELD 38: CANFIELD — The Tigers outscored the Cardinals, 17-7, in the fourth quarter. The Tigers went 19 of 27 from the charity stripe, led by Sara Price, who went 8 of 11. Price scored 29 points.
The Cardinals couldn’t keep pace in the second-half. Brittany Coonce made four field goals for 11 points.
ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 56, KENNEDY 39: WARREN — The Eagles drop to 2-2, as Antonella LaMonica’s 23 points weren’t enough. Just three Eagles scored, as Kennedy had just 14 second-half points.
GIRARD 57, CAMPBELL 23: GIRARD — The Indians led by 16 at halftime. Olivia Ciminero led the way with 12 points, while Makayla Trebella had 11 points and eight steals for the Indians (2-2, 1-0 in All-American Conference Blue Tier).
Campbell drops to 0-5, as Selena Lopez’ 10 points weren’t enough for the Red Devils. Campbell did not score more than nine points in any quarter, and were held to just two in the final period.
BROOKFIELD 73, LIBERTY 32: BROOKFIELD — The Warriors led by 22 at halftime. Bailey Drapola made all eight of her free throws for 22 points, while Madison Bellis made six baskets for 15 points.
Liberty scored just 10 first-half points. Sharda Williamson and China Tate did most of the Leopard scoring, as Williamson had 13 points and Tate had 11.
POLAND 73, LABRAE 51: POLAND — The Bulldogs outscored LaBrae, 27-6, in the opening quarter. Bella Gajdos had 17 points, while Sarah Bury added 14 points of her own.
Despite shooting nearly 50% from the field, the Vikings struggled against the Poland. LaBrae trailed by 21 points, heading into the second quarter. Marissa Roberts led the way with 13 points, while Morgan Meyer and Haylie Kiser had 12 points each.
FITCH 74, URSULINE 65: STRUTHERS — The Falcons knocked-down nine 3-pointers and had nine steals in the win. Sabria Hunter made seven buckets for 20 points, while Mikaela Hibbs made three 3-pointers for 15 points. Fitch improves to 4-0.
Dayshanette Harris’ 31 points weren’t enough for the Irish (3-2). Harris made 13 field goals, while Simone Comer scored 19 points.
JACKSON-MILTON 50, STRUTHERS 42: STRUTHERS — Ashley and Katelyn Totani combined for 35 points in the win. Ashley led the way with 20 points and had four of the team’s nine steals, while Katelyn had 15 points. Michaelina Terranova had a double-double as the Blue Jays improve to 6-0.
Struthers (1-2) was outscored, 15-8, in the second quarter. Khaylah Brown had 13 points and Alexis Bury had 11.
UNITED LOCAL 36, MINERAL RIDGE 28: HANOVERTON — The Rams made just eight field goals and were 10 of 26 (38%) from the free throw line. Taryn Kolesar had 10 points, as the Rams were outscored, 13-4, in the fourth quarter.
United outscored Mineral Ridge, 13-4, in the final period. Cameron Pierson had seven buckets for 16 points.
VALLEY CHRISTIAN 61, TRINITY 34: CLEVELAND — India and Imane Snyder combined for 30 points and 17 steals in the win. India led the way with a double-double, as she had 19 points and 10 steals. Imane, meanwhile, had 11 points and seven steals.
Trinity went just 7 of 18 from the free throw line, and was outscored, 23-1, in the third quarter. Francis made five field goals for 10 points.
