Lordstown meet coming Saturday

LORDSTOWN – The Lordstown Athletic Department is hosting the 17th annual Lordstown Jean Ann Smith Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Lordstown Village Park on state Route 45 in Lordstown.

There will be 13 local schools competing: Badger, Western Reserve, Bristol, Brookfield, Carpe Diem, Jackson-Milton, LaBrae, Lordstown, Mineral Ridge, Sebring, South Range, Southington and United Local.

The high school races begin at 10 a.m., followed by the junior high.

In the varsity boys race, Mineral Ridge’s Cameron Palmer is the returning meet champion, while Western Reserve’s Ashley Rowley is the returning varsity girls champion.

NILES CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL: NILES – The Niles Cross Country Invitational is Saturday starting at 10 a.m., with the junior high races, followed at 11 a.m., with the varsity races. Howland’s Ethan Neff is the returning varsity boys champ.
