Howland’s Price is first team All-Ohio
Howland’s do-everything basketball star Sara Price went past the 1,000-point mark for her career in this past season, her junior year.
At 6-foot-1, Price can be a dominant player in the paint as evidenced by her per game averages of 10 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots. She also has demonstrated an ability to shoot from outside, compiling a 37 percent mark from behind the arc.
Her versatile game helped the Tigers to an All-American Conference Red Tier championship and a berth in a district final and landed her a spot on the Associated Press All-Ohio Division II first team. See Page 3C for the Divisions II and III girls basketball All-Ohio teams.
Price, more than anything an elite scorer, averaged 22.2 points per game and was named Northeast Inland District player of the year last week.
Danielle Norquest, a 5-10 junior from Southeast, averaged 23.1 points per game and joined Price on the All-Ohio first team.
Lakeview defeated Howland to win that aforementioned district final at Austintown Fitch and the Bulldogs placed two players on the All-Ohio D-II second team.
Senior post Addie Becker averaged 19.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks and sophomore guard Annie Pavlansky scored at a 15.7 per game clip and grabbed nine rebounds per game.
