CROSS COUNTRY: Maplewood boys, South Range girls win
HEBRON – Maplewood’s boys, led by Tristan Dahmen’s first-place finish (16 minutes, 22.27 seconds), took first with 44 points in the Section J race at the OHSAA Early Season Cross Country Invitational Saturday at National Trail Raceway.
Mineral Ridge’s Logan Smith (16:33.72) took second behind Dahmen in that race and led the Rams to a sixth-place finish with 235 points. Mineral Ridge’s Nathanael Toth took 10th in 17:34.08.
In the girls Section G race, South Range beat Liberty Union, 67-110.
In the Section B race, Austintown Fitch took eighth with 235 points, while Boardman was 11th with 315. St. Ignatius edged Mason for the team title, 64-71.
Fitch junior Andrew Green ran 17:06.08 and placed 26th, while Boardman’s Nick Long placed 35th (17:15.57).
In the boys Section H race, South Range’s boys took 10th with 238 points.
