McDonald rushes past Mineral Ridge

McDONALD — McDonald ran for 240 yards and four touchdowns in its 47-10 rout of neighborhood rival Mineral Ridge in an Inter Tri-County League Blue Tier game.

The Blue Devils (4-4, 2-1) led 14-10 after the first quarter before rattling off 20 unanswered points in the second quarter. Alex Cintron returned a kickoff 88 yards for the first TD of the second frame.

Joe Celli added a 9-yard TD run and Dale Wolford caught his first TD of the year on a 28-yard strike from Dylan Portolese. Celli scored three touchdowns overall for McDonald, which didn’t yield another point.

Mineral Ridge (2-6, 2-1) ran for 158 yards but managed just 20 yards passing. Jarred Miller led all rushers with 94 yards on 18 carries, including a 1-yard TD.

WESTERN RESERVE 53, JACKSON-MILTON 0: BERLIN CENTER — Western Reserve racked up 535 yards of total offense while holding the Blue Jays to 111 in a dominating ITCL Blue Tier victory.

Dominic Velasquez completed 12-of-17 passes for 270 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions for the Blue Devils (5-3, 3-0). Wyatt Larimer caught two passes, one going for a 50-yard TD and the other being a 6-yard score. Both came in a first half in which Western Reserve took a 41-0 lead. Austin Seifert ran for 73 yards and two TDs on seven carries.

Michael Liberato paced Jackson-Milton (5-3, 1-2) with 48 yards on six carries.

SOUTH RANGE 49, CRESTVIEW 0: CANFIELD — South Range, the top-rated team in Division V, Region 17, kept a strong foothold on that spot with a dominating offensive and defensive performance over ITCL Red Tier foe Crestview.

The Raiders (7-1, 2-1 ITCL Red) dominated with 430 total yards to 114 for the Rebels (3-5, 1-2).

Aniello Buzzacco did it all for South Range with eight carries for 138 yards and a touchdown, along with 7-of-10 for 161 yards and four scores.

VASJ 38, VALLEY CHRISTIAN 0: The Eagles lost their fourth straight and fell to 2-5 and 0-3 in the North Coast League White Division.
