One of my favorite bands is Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings with a horn-driven soul sound that is irresistible. And I've been eagerly awaiting the release of "Give the People What They Want," the band's first album in three years.

Stambaugh announces outdoor concert series

Stambaugh Auditorium is planning a summer concert series in its newly renovated formal garden.

The series was announced Thursday at the rededication of the garden, located on south side of the auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstow.

Grammy winner headlines Youngstown Jazz Fest

Grammy Award winner Kirk Whalum will headline this year's Youngstown Jazz Fest.

The outdoor festival will run from 7 to 10:30 p.m. July 14 in downtown Youngstown's Central Square.

Beer fest rivalry brewing in Mahoning Valley

Apparently the organizers of The Big Tap In don't want anyone tapping into their territory.

Last week promoter Dominic Gatta III announced plans for the Youngstown Beer Fest, a fall beer fest at the Covelli Centre on Oct. 5.

Youngstown Symphony will accompany Cirque Musica at Covelli Centre

Youngstown Symphony Orchestra will return to the Covelli Centre, this time accompanied by circus performers.

Cirque Musica comes to the Youngstown arena at 7 p.m. Sept. 25.
