| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category Its time to vote out Tim Ryan in 2012Analysis of Tim shows he is a "Rank and File" democrat based on his voting record and limited legislative leadership. Timothy Ryan has sponsored 46 bills since Jan 7, 2003 of which 40 haven't made it out of committee and 2 were successfully enacted. The top campaign contribution to Ryan in 2007-2008 was $33,250 from employees of PMA Group. The PMA Group is a defunct lobbying firm based in Washington D.C. It was founded and owned by ex-House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense staffer Paul Magliocchetti. The firm's annual lobbying income climbed steadily to its 2006 peak at $16,060,000. In November 2008 the PMA Group's offices were raided by the FBI. The subsequent investigation into illegal pay to play activities has led to the resignation of five of its senior lobbyists who started their own firm and brought clients with them. As a result, the firm ceased operations on March 31, 2009. Member CommentsValleyguy1174seasons...find me a politician and I will show you someone who will take credit for things they have had nothing to do with. Are we really experiencing a job boom in the Valley? A lot of talk about shale but nothing is happening yet. What will be funny is to see Dems like Ryan, who have been radio silent on Shale jump on the bandwagon if things do break open in this area. Posted 6 days ago. 4seasonsIt's laughable that Ryan, who has held public office for HOW MANY years could now receive credit for Ohio's sudden jump in job creation. Kasich campaigned on creating an environment in this state that would attract companies to move and/or expand here. That's exactly what he's been doing and if any one person is to be credited with the job creation, it is our Governor. So, your saying that besides his legislative agenda, he has gone out and recruited a company to land here in the Mahoning Valley? I think you may be truthful in saying that he and his staff have assisted in some job creation. If anything, he has been silent and on-the-fence regarding the shale/gas boom. Ryan hasn't tried to throw road blocks like Hagen but has not been in the front of the "welcome line" either. If these were union jobs, no Dem would be opposed. Let's keep who Tim Ryan is in reality: an educated, well spoken, energetic leader who is not a PR mess or embarrassment like many who have represented this area. He is a slightly moderate Dem who is a great representative for his constituents. The people of the Valley can be proud that they don't have a half-wit in office like they do at some many other levels. But to say that he is behind massive job creation...not buying Posted 27 days ago. DanielValleyguy117, Its easier to just tell you to read back articles on the jobs and economics of the Vally. Doubt there would be room here. Posted 34 days ago. Valleyguy117Daniel, While I question why Tim Ryan should be voted out, I don't understand your remark about his job creation record...What jobs has he actually created besides his own and those of his staff? Posted 52 days ago. DanielWhat kind of crack head would vote out a guy that is creating a massive amount of jobs? Posted 54 days ago. Valleyguy117USBlues... Republican, I can't agree more with the statement that Ryan has moved more to the Washington left than remain the moderate he was in 2002. But, the great majority of his district is Democrat. He reflects their ideologies...so I don't think he is misrepresenting his district. The Trumbull Co. GOP is run by fools. They continually fail to organize, recruit viable candidates and show any degree of a professional political organization. They put up half-wits who reflect the extreme far right views of the party. Until the local GOP can counter with real candidates and structure an organization that is respectable, then the Tim Ryan's of the world should rule the Mahoning Valley. Posted 73 days ago. USBluesTim Ryan supported this: Just when you thought the government couldn’t ruin the First Amendment any further: The House of Representatives approved a bill on Monday that outlaws protests in instances where some government officials are nearby, whether or not you even know it. The US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347 late Monday, a bill which is being dubbed the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011. In the bill, Congress officially makes it illegal to trespass on the grounds of the White House, which, on the surface, seems not just harmless and necessary, but somewhat shocking that such a rule isn’t already on the books. The wording in the bill, however, extends to allow the government to go after much more than tourists that transverse the wrought iron White House fence. Posted 82 days ago.
