It's amazing, to stroll through these forums and read the commentaries. Take many of these comments and imagine the clerk at one of the local grocery stores saying the comment to an older woman in front of you just out of the blue. It wouldn't happen, and if it did--that clerk wouldn't have a job for long. We DO have civil discourse in the marketplace, so what is the "special exemption" that allows for the absence of civil discourse? Hidden within the ego is the “me-not me” rule, the opposite of the Golden Rule. You value what is ”yours”…family, friends. Everyone is somebody’s son or daughter, and is valued. So the absence of love and peace creates the conditions of conflict and war. Civil war is not just “out there” somewhere but inside, projected onto the outside “others” without value. Seeing guilt darkens ones own light. The cost of giving is receiving. See the Light within your neighbor and yours will shine, and together they will overcome all that seems impossible.
