Just four years ago, 60% of the public approved of labor unions, while 31% disapproved. Today, 42% disapprove of unions, a move of 11 points in a very short period of time. In the 70+ years Gallup has been asking the question, approval has generally been in the 60s and disapproval in the 20s. Support for unions peaked in the 1950s, when 75% of the public approved of unions. And, this isn't some kind of skew from question wording. Here's the question Gallup asks: Do you approve or disapprove of labor unions?

We must protect middle class from the BIG LABOR thieves who fund BIG GOVERNMENT

Boy that person, realytiered, sure has a lot of time to post online. A person would think that a single parent with a job wouldn't have that much spare time.

Under the guise of taking care of the people, the government is consistently attempting to enlarge its role in the lives of American citizens, hoping to replace a reliance on God, family, and self with a dependence on government. Governmental paternalism was a destroyer of individual liberty, progress, and happiness in the 1700s, and it has the same devastating effects today.

The Constitution and most of the other documents of that time by the nation's founders had a common theme: that the interest of the citizens must be paramount over the interests of the consolidated government. That this has been reversed and that the Constitution has been willfully misinterpreted by generations of lawmakers, presidents and Supreme Court justices to our detriment is evident to more and more of us. The common theme among the "tea partiers," so maligned by "the educated class," is not the repeal of the Constitution but rather its restoration. And that they call seditious, radical, and terrorist like!

We are led by fools who ignore the ample evidence history provides about the collapse of spendthrift societies. Such events abound. How is it they expect our overspending to end in other than disaster? You'd have to ask them, I guess. Or perhaps read the fantasies of Paul Krugman, the economist/columnist who believes the biggest problem with the stimulus spending is that there hasn't been nearly enough of it.

Bigger government isn’t better. That’s the lesson of a century of failed Progressivism. It’s a lesson we’re all going to learn the hard way in the years ahead, unless we take steps to reduce the power and permanence of bureaucrats.

As Rep. Paul Ryan puts it, “big government is bad in theory, but it’s much worse in practice. And effective government, that is good government that’s limited, focuses in on our core duties.”

That’s not what we have now. Even worse, it seems that nobody is in charge. The president assures us he had no idea his Department of Justice was seeking phone records from AP reporters. He insists he had no idea the IRS was giving special scrutiny to Tea Party groups.

If you feel your life would be much better with less goverment, little or no taxes, no social safty nets, an economic system based solely on personal responabilty and unregulated crime then I invite you to ask the Somalie people how that is working out for them.

China's money market spiked last night to record highs. The PBOC had to inject liquidity into those markets/banks. Meaning, therr is a money crunch in China right now. This is another sign the petro dollar is on it,s death bed. Thus thing is going to start in Japan when it kicks off.

Big gov't is a major concern, but it's run by our so called elected leaders in both houses. When the GOP was in control and changed our election laws, that was the start. Our elected representatives don't listen to us anymore, they don't have too with all the big fund raisers they have today. Back when political contributions were limited, they listened to get your support and contributions. Today all they care about is pleasing the big campaign fund raisers, which includes foreign gov'ts. as well as foreign companies. Those are the ones directing this country today, simply by dangling that carrot (campaign money) to get what ever they want. Until we change this back to where campaign contributions are limited, whether it's a person or a company things will never change. Elected GOP officials are scared to death of Grover Norquist, because he controls big campaign monies. An Norquist doesn't deny or care who knows, that he dangles that carrot to get his funds wishes.

the 2nd greatest threat we face, in my opinion here, is the 28% of Americans who still support the govt. These people are dangerous! They will go to ANY length to make sure gov't not only stays in control of our lives, but also are supporters of govt stealing more control day after day. Basically, they are sellouts to freedom and liberty.

If you know anyone who doesn't view govt as a massive threat to this country, talk to them and help them see what is happening here.

Thank you.
