Welfare Recipients

Doris A. Garrett, Gainesville, Fla. wrote a rant in our opinion section last Sunday in the Trib. At first I wondered what this woman from Gainesville was even writing to our little rag for. (Purpose) Then I realized it was one of two things, Doris was originally from our area, or our wonderful Trib staff found this letter and decided to put it in the Trib, as they do on a regular bases. Ms Garrett's rants prove nothing but her ignorance. Many of her ideas I may agree with, but her last claim, that many of these people live better than you and I, is just insane. I wouldn't want to trade one of these welfare recipients lives. I live in a safe area, not the PJ's, I get to eat a better diet then an average of 5 dollars a day for meals, yes these people are given money twice a year to buy their children clothes, but with the little money they get a month, how else the child to get clothing? Yes, these young women should be forced to give the father(s) name of their child(ren) or no assista

Markets up huge today after the FED announced it will continue to print 75 billion dollars a month in what has become the most massive subsidy for the rich in the history of mankind. The bank that controls the money is putting us 75 billion dollars deeper in debt every month printing money to make sure other bankers stay mega rich! BWAHAHAHAH......

Corporate welfare is much more of a problem than the lazy a.sses who abuse the welfare given to the poor just living off the taxpayers.

We are living through the greatest scam ever, it is being perpetrated against us, and it is happening every single day.

I have no problem with welfare as a temporary aid but I don't believe that the government should be providing welfare to families generation after generation.

I wish everyone did that pledge to only eat what they get in food stamps for one week, that would wake them up. I lasted only two days. I could not even afford hot dogs. Spam was a close call.

or no assistance. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this Ms Garrett's image that these people are living it up is just insane. If she thinks they have it so good, why don't she go live their way? I know why, because she knows their life stinks. Unsafe living environment, limited access to transportation, limited rations for food, limited funds for clothing, limited access to health care providers, etc... but in her mind, they got it made. If she really believes this, then she should do as they do.
