WARREN -- September rates for Dominion East Ohio's Standard Choice Offer / Standard Service Offer customers will increase about 3.5 percent over rates from August, the utility provider announced.
Effective Sept. 11, new rates will be $4.387 per thousand cubic feet (mcf), or about 15 cents higher than the August rate of $4.24 per mcf.
The rates apply to choice-eligible customers who do not purchase natural gas from an Energy Choice supplier or participate in a governmental aggregation program. August rates are 22 cents, or 5.3 percent, higher than the rates a year ago at this time. September 2013 rates were $4.167 per mcf.
The average standard choice offer / standard service offer residential customer's bill for August is expected to be $37.10, up $2.85, from the September 2013 average of $34.25.
