NILES - The Mahoning Valley Scrappers only managed five hits in Thursday night's 2-1 loss to the Jamestown Jammers.
The lone Scrappers' run came in the bottom of the fifth. With one out, Steven Patterson singled and then stole second. He advanced to third when a throw sailed into center field. Finally he scored on a wild pitch.
The game remained tied until the eighth when the Jammers' Tyler Filliben hit a solo home run.
Casey Shane started for the Scrappers and went six innings, allowing one run and four hits.
The Scrappers start their final home series of the year tonight against Auburn at 7:05.
