CORTLAND - John R. Davidson II, 61, of Cortland, died Sunday morning, Aug. 24, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Sharon, Pa., the son of the late Daniel Swogger and Carole Ann Hunt of Reno, Nev. He had been a Trumbull County resident since 1970.
John retired in 2012 after many years of service at Schaefer Equipment, where he worked as a hammerman of railroad parts.
He loved motorcycling and enjoyed traveling on his Harley-Davidson with his wife, Nancy. John especially enjoyed traveling to motorcycle runs, like Sturgis and Rolling Thunder.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy R. Thiry Davidson, whom he married Nov. 13, 2010; his mother, Carole Ann Hunt of Reno; his stepmother, Millie Swogger of Sharon; one daughter, Leslie R. (Fred) Mahan Jr. of Bristolville; one son, Jason R. (Emily) Davidson of Bazetta; one grandson, Evan Johnson; four sisters, Sherry "Krys" Dawson of Las Vegas, Jayna Osborne of Fair Oaks, Calif., Darlene Cary of Sharon and Kathy Norris of Pennsylvania; and five brothers, Cliff Davidson of Las Vegas, Steve Davidson of Oregon, Bobby Davidson of Marino Valley, Calif., Donald Swogger of Maryland and Gary Swogger of Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren. Per John's wishes, there will be no services.
