WARREN -- Police today continued the investigation into the killing of a city man last week at his northwest side home, but it remained unclear whether the puncture wounds he suffered caused his death.
An autopsy to determine how Dominic "Dino" Bufano, 55, died was completed on Friday. However, police were waiting to receive a ruling from the Trumbull County Coroner's Office. Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.
The case was assigned to an outside coroner because Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk was out of town.
Bufano died at his 1341 Bingham Ave. N.W. home on Thursday during what police said appeared to be a home invasion.
Bufano's body was found in the basement of the home he shared with his 85-year-old mother, Donatina Bufano.
