VEC owner is honored: Rex Ferry, owner and CEO of VEC Inc., was presented the National Electrical Contractors Association's James Robert "Bob" Pritchard Electrical Industry Award at a recent recognition ceremony in Youngstown. DiRusso's marks 50th year at Fair: DiRusso's Real Italian Sausage Concessions is marking its 50th year at the Canfield Fair, where it began in 1964 when Augustine "Augie" DiRusso started a concession business. His mother, Adeline DiRusso, was the originator of DiRusso's sausage recipe.
Upon Augie's 1993 retirement, nephew Robert DiRusso purchased the manufacturing business, which is located in Youngstown.

Salvation Army store cuts ribbon: The Regional Chamber and Captain Bayode Agbaje last week cut the ribbon on a new Salvation Army Family Store, 444 Boardman Canfield Road, Boardman, between Honda and Goodyear across from the Boardman Plaza.
The nearly 12,000-square-feet of shopping space is filled with bargain-priced clothing, household items, electronics, books, toys, furniture and collectibles. Budget-conscious shoppers will also appreciate the store's even deeper "Family Day" discounts on Wednesdays.
