WARREN - A man was killed Thursday evening in his northwest Warren home.
"All I can tell you right now is that we have a deceased male and we're investigating it as a homicide," Warren Detective Wayne Mackey said late Thursday after the body was removed from 1341 Bingham Ave. N.W.
More information is to be released this morning.
Police investigate the scene where a man’s body was found Thursday on Bingham Avenue N.W. in Warren.
Late Thursday, crime scene tape was wrapped around the house off U.S. Route 422 near downtown Warren, where officers were called in the early evening.
According to neighbor Michael Flask, who lives several doors down, the home is occupied by a man and his elderly mother who uses a wheelchair.
According to the Trumbull County Auditor's Office website, the property is owned by Donatina Bufano.
Flask said that when he arrived home about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police already were on the scene.
Flask said that he heard that two people entered the home and beat the son to death before fleeing.
Police would not confirm this or provide further information as they continued to question neighbors and investigate the area.
About 9:50 p.m., an ambulance backed up to the rear of the home and what appeared to be a body was removed from the house on a stretcher.
Flask and other neighbors who declined to give their names said the neighborhood is usually quiet with the exception of a few windows being broken years ago.
