Trans-Siberian Orchestra is returning to the Covelli Centre.
According to the tour schedule released this morning by the TSO's publicist, Scoop Marketing, two shows are scheduled at 3 and 8 p.m. Jan. 2, 2015.
TSO will be performing "The Christmas Attic" live for the first time on its winter tour, which will start on Nov. 13.
TSO creator, lyricist and composer Paul O'Neill says in the press release, "After kicking off the New Year in front of two million fans at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, followed by our second European tour, the band felt that a perfect way to end the year would be to perform the only rock opera from the trilogy that has never been seen live. Some of the songs off 'The Christmas Attic' have never been played live. As I have always said 'it is fun to write the songs, it is fun to record them, but they are never really completed until we perform them in front of a live arena audience.' Of course the second half of the show will feature, TSO iconic classics and fan favorites, such as 'Wizards In Winter,' 'Requiem' and 'Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo 12/24.'"
This will be the first time since 2010 that TSO has brought its holiday tour to Youngstown. In the early years of the Covelli Centre/Chevrolet Centre, it was one of the most popular attractions, selling out multiple dates. TSO did bring its non-Christmas show, "Beethoven's Last Night," to the Youngstown arena in 2012. According to TSO's web site, presales for the winter tour will start Sept. 3-5.
