WARREN - Leroy James Bowler Sr., 79, of 1734 Valley St. S.W., died 2:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at St. Joseph Health Center following complications from a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Cleveland, the son of John Bonner and Geneva Bowler.
Mr. Bowler was a tow motor driver with General Motors B.O.C. Lordstown Division.
Leroy served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, receiving several honors.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy "Jimmy" Bowler Jr. and Dwayne Davis, both of Warren; two daughters, Patricia "Patty" Henderson of Cleveland and Maria Henderson of Warren; one brother, Albert Tiller of Baltimore; two sisters, Harriet Demory and Shirley Veney, both of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie L. Davis Bowler; one brother, Ervin Tiller; and a special friend, Mary McKenzie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home. Calling hours are one hour prior to service.
