CHURCH HOSTS END OF SUMMER EVENT: An End of Summer Celebration will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the St. Rose School gymnasium, 48 E. Main St., Girard, in conjunction with the Girard City parade.
The celebration will include a pizza cookoff with eight local pizzeria / restaurants vying for the coveted Favorite Pizza Prize. Various traditional festival foods will also be on sale.
A summer raffle will be drawn three times during the evening for cash prizes. Music will be provided by the Eric Rafoth Band.

SCRAPPERS TO HELP CHILDREN: The Mahoning Valley Scrappers is hosting a Back to School Supply Drive for Homes For Kids / Child and Family Solutions. The public can donate school supplies at the Wednesday, Scrappers game and receive a free general admission ticket to that evening's game. Game time is 7:05 p.m. at Eastwood Field.
FARM BUREAU SETS MEETING: The Trumbull County Farm Bureau will recognize the past year's accomplishments and adopt policies for the coming year at the organization's annual meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at Vernon's Cafe, 720 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles. Guest speaker is Tony Seegers, director of state policy with the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.
The annual meeting will focus on finalizing policy suggestions which will be carried to the Ohio Farm Bureau annual meeting in December. Eight trustee positions will be seated and four delegates to elect to represent the county at the 2015 Ohio Farm Bureau annual meeting.

ROCKIN' AT THE CAMPGROUND: The Rockin' on the Ridge at Ridge Ranch Campground, 5219 state Route 303, Newton Falls, will be held Friday and Saturday. Those attending can bring lawn chairs and coolers. All proceeds to go Braceville Police Department, Braceville Fire Department and food bank.
Admission for the day will be canned good, diapers or wipes. The event will also include a 50/50 raffle and T-shirt sale. Cash donations will be accepted. The Crestwood Lions will be on hand to sell food and their proceeds will go to a charity of their choice.

Randolph, a resident of Salineville, will be available to sign copies of her "Casper Joe" series of books about a puppy adopted by loving parents.
