McDONALD - Carole E. Kunkel, 78, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Hospice House.
Carole was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Tarkins Kutsko.
She had retired after 20 years as a clerk at Fellner Pharmacy and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McDonald.
She enjoyed nights on the back patio, crocheting and all things sparkly. Her friends held a special place in her heart, and will forever remain there.
On June 20, 1959, Carole was united into marriage with Joseph F. Kunkel, and together they spent 30 loving years until his passing on Dec. 30, 1998.
Carole leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Marybeth (Layne) Kendig of Mentor and Tina (Paul) Monroe of Howland; one brother, Edward Kutsko of Mineral Ridge; five grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Burtscher, Alexa Kendig, Brandon Kendig, Krista Monroe and Taylor Monroe; and one great-grandson, Julian Burtscher.
Besides her parents and husband, Carole was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Kutsko, and one sister, Virginia Gaffey.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice House for their care and compassion provided to Carole.
