COMING SATURDAY: Vacant lots in the city became the afternoon's biggest attraction today. Of course, they aren't so vacant anymore, having been repopulated by flowers and vegetables over the last couple years.
"I grew up (in Warren) and there were -- I'd walk the streets coming home from church -- and there were gardens on every corner. I'm glad to see that's back again," said Warren resident Mary Brown.
Brown was among about 70 people who participated in the "Garden Crawl" tour hosted by the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and the Fine Arts Council that led them through ten different locations in the northeastern Garden District.
"Wouldn't it be nice if it was the garden city?" Brown said.
