WARREN -- A man known for doing charitable work was sentenced to 60 days in jail today in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for stealing from a 93-year-old woman.
Roderick Lewis Jr., 23, Warren, previously pleaded guilty to charges that include theft from an elderly person and misuse of a credit card. He was also placed on probation for four years.
Investigators said Lewis, a former candidate for the Warren City School Board of Education, impersonated a local police officer and used the elderly woman's credit cards.
Lewis made a name for himself through his charitable work with neighborhood groups in Warren.
