NILES - The 81st annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival will be from July 16-20 on the church grounds off Robbins Avenue.
The annual event commemorates the feast of its patroness with a religious celebration and traditional street fair.
It consists of rides, games, musical entertainment and popular Italian homemade food, including cheese puffs, twists, sausage sandwich, cavatelli, pastries and pizza.
Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 16-18 and 5 to 11 p.m. each day.
Every night will feature different musical entertainment from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. - Rex Taneri Band July 16; D. Major Band July 17; Brotherhood Band July 18; Kenny Kuhn Band July 19; and Sam Tonelli Band July 20.
There will be a grand prize raffle of $5,000 with many other cash prizes totaling more than $10,000.
Added to the event this year is a worker's Mass at 11:30 a.m. July 19.
On Saturday, the celebration begins with a 5 p.m. Mass, followed by a procession to begin at Erie Street, Allison Street, Cedar Street and down Robbins Avenue.
Church organizations, first communion classes and parishioners will follow the statue, praying the rosary. The statue will be enshrined on the rectory steps for all to view.
