AUSTINTOWN - Yolanda C. Masciangelo, 96, of Austintown, died at 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at Briarfield at Ashley Circle.
She was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Warren, the daughter of Dominic and Amelia Amolia Veri.
She was employed as a custodian for the Niles City School District for 10 years, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Parish in Niles, enjoyed spending time with family and watching TV.
Her husband, Patrick Masciangelo, whom she married Nov. 26, 1938, died Dec. 3, 1983.
She will be deeply missed by two sons, Nicholas (Lil) Masciangelo of Niles and Ronald (Beth) Masciangelo of Niles; a daughter, Diane (Wilbur) Wilson of North Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Tom (Diane) Masciangelo, Lori (Rich) Martin, Aimee' (Scott) Tiernan, David (Monika) Masciangelo, Aaron Masciangelo, Philip (Kenya) Masciangelo, Sarah Wilson, Ruth Wilson, Rachael (Rob) Markwell and Wilbur P. Wilson; and four great-grandchildren, Patrick Nicholas Masciangelo, Carolyn Marie Masciangelo, Alex Masciangelo and Dominic Sebastian Masciangelo
She was preceded in death by a son, the Rev. Richard J. Masciangelo, C.PP.S.; and three brothers, Carmelo Veri, William Veri and Nicholas Veri.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, with the Rev. Thomas Kraszewski officiating, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
