WYLIE, Texas - Robert J. "Bob" Haberstroh, 62, went to heaven on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at the home of his son and daughter-in-law.
He was born on March 10, 1952, to Robert A. and Frances Jean Haberstroh in Rapid City, S.D.
He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Class of 1970.

Bob retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1993. He then went to work for the Air Force Reserves in Fort Worth, Texas, as a disaster preparedness technician responsible for training thousands of military and civilian first responders.
He was a past services officer and chaplain at the Fort Worth American Legion Post 626.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time with his golfing buddies, family and his friends at the Legion. Bob was an always and forever a Cleveland sports fan and a friend to all.
His memory will live on through his son, Robert P. (Sheena) Haberstroh, and grandson, Jacob, of Wylie; his sisters, Chris (Douglas) Scherer of Cortland, Terri (Albert) Crabbs of Fowler and Suzie (Donald) Gorse of Cortland; brothers, John (Irene) Haberstroh of Friendswood, Texas, and Mark L. Honsaker of Seabrook, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Paul R. Honsaker; and his sister, Yvonne Honsaker Holtzheimer.
Cremation has taken place and entrusted to Local Cremation in Dallas. Family graveside services will take place in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland at a later date.
