FARMDALE - Barbara Jean Cosner, 78, of Farmdale, died at 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her home.
She was born on May 28, 1936, in Cumberland, Md., the daughter of Willard and Beverly Spencer Broome.
Barbara worked and was retired from Packard Electric after 25 years of service as an assembler.
She loved playing the piano, and enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Barbara was also loved by everyone she ever met because of her open and giving personality and her wonderful gift of gab.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell Cosner, whom she married on June 21, 1996. She was a very devoted wife, and mother to her six children and three stepdaughters, Alan Crytzer of Kissimmee, Fla., Steven Crytzer of Hermitage, Pa., Ronald Crytzer of Champion, Beverly Osti of Duck, N.C., Cheryl Fronk of Youngstown and Amy Lendak of Kinsman, and Marsha (Kerry) Shaw of Edgewood, Md., Janice Cosner of Joppa, Md., and Shelia (Tim) Dunmire of Edgewood, Md.; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linda (William) Dray of Girard.
Other than her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, David Crytzer, and one brother, Kenneth Broome.
Barbara's eulogy will be read at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland at 11 a.m. on Friday. Following the reading, the gathering will proceed to the Johnston Township Cemetery for the committal service.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
