BRADENTON, Fla. - William "Bill" John Sernulka of Bradenton, Fla., went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
William was born May 16, 1940, in Warren, the son of Nick and Ann Sernulka.
He lived in Niles and Youngstown prior to moving to Bradenton, Fla., in 1992.
After graduating from Niles McKinley High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in the 82nd Airborne.
William retired in 1992 as a superintendent from the General Motors Lordstown complex.
He was a member of the Argus Masonic Lodge. His favorite hobbies were fishing, boating and golfing while living in Florida.
Survivors are his loving wife, Elizabeth, whom he married July 15, 1967; two daughters, Kristine (fiance Ken) and Shannon (Clint), and granddaughter Kaylee, of Florida; a sister, Connie Lavin; three nephews, Bernard, James and Raymond; and a great-nephew, James Raymond Riley Lavin, all of Girard; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Ann Sernulka, and a brother, Raymond Sernulka.
