AUSTINTOWN - John Trimboli, 94, of Austintown, died Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014.
He was born March 11, 1920 in Eccles, W.Va., the son of Dominic and Josephine Caruso Trimboli.
John enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during World War II, assigned after basic training to the 144th Battalion.
John worked for the United Engineering for more than 20 years, then also worked for the Trumbull County Council on Alcoholism until he retired in 1983.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Mordocco; three children, Dominic Trimboli of North Jackson and Melanie Opre and Delight Orzechowski, both of Canfield; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Jennie Bolash, and a brother, James Trimboli.
John was preceded in death by a son, Michael, a sister and three brothers.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, Boardman.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where AMVETS Post 44 will hold a service at 6:50 p.m.
Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, where full military honors will be held.
