HUBBARD - Catherine L. DeJulio, 80, of Hubbard, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Catherine was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Youngstown, a daughter of James and Lottie Hedricks Secre.
She was a 1952 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and North Side Hospital Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Catherine was a nurse at Northside Hospital, Southside Hospital and for the late Dr. Westerfield, and Glenview Manor Nursing Home for many years, retiring in the early 1980s.
She attended Victory Christian Center, and also had attended Central Christian Church, where she was the Sunday school superintendent and teacher.
She was a member of Opti-Mrs Club of Hubbard, where she was a past president, secretary and treasurer, a past vice president of Hubbard PTA, and also served as chairman of the membership and social committee, and also was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
She enjoyed bocce and played in a ladies and mixed doubles league.
Her husband Robert R. DeJulio Sr., whom she married June 25, 1955, passed away Oct. 24, 2001.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Janet (Michael) Roberts of Easley, S.C., Salvatore (Susan) DeJulio of Hubbard and Catherine "Candee" (Lindell) Chambers of Lakewood; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her sisters, Mary Ripoli of Girard and Theresa Zuckla of Canfield, and her brother, Michael (Barbara) Zuckla of Youngstown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Robert R. DeJulio Jr.; her brothers, Rocco Secre and Fred Secre; and sisters, Carmel Andino and Josephine Litchett.
There will be services held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home. There will be calling hours from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
Catherine will be laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
