WINDHAM - Laird Phillip Cogley, 92, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at his home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Echo, Pa., the son of Earl Henry and Minnie Florence Farster Cogley.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of The United Church of Christ Congregational in Windham, and was a house builder and remodeler.
Laird is survived by four children, Larry Cogley of Akron, Nancy Beckner of Windham, Tom Cogley of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Connie Barstow of Garrettsville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy LaWave Schrecengost; three brothers; and a sister.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Windham Township Cemetery, where burial with full military honors will be provided by U.S. Army Honor Guard Team. A luncheon and Celebration of Laird's Life will follow the services at the Brick Chapel in Windham.
