TIMKO NAMED EAGLE: Nash Daryl Clower Timko, son of Daryl and Robin Timko of Hartford, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.
Timko, 16, and his family celebrated his accomplishments along with three of his fellow Scouts, who were also awarded their Eagle at an Eagle Court of Honor held March 2 at the Hartford United Methodist Church.
For his Eagle Scout service project, Timko planned, coordinated, gathered materials and supervised the construction and installation of a 4-foot-by-8-foot trophy case for Badger Elementary School.
Timko presented his mother and father with the appropriate Parent Pin, and honored his uncle, Gary Clower, with the Mentor Pin for his guidance throughout his Eagle project.
In 2004, Timko began the trail to Eagle as a Tiger Cub in Hartford Pack 90. As a Cub Scout, he earned the Arrow of Light Award and Religious Emblem. Timko became a member of Hartford Boy Scout Troop 90 in March 2009 under the leadership of Jeff McDowell and chartered by the Hartford Optimist Club.
As a Boy Scout, Timko has earned 41 merit badges to date - the 12 required Eagle badges, plus 29 elective, including the four historical badges. Timko also earned the World Conservation Award, and two years Pipestone at Camp Seven Ranges.
Through scouting, Timko has traveled to Washington, D.C., Gettysburg, and New York City, along with numerous camping, hiking and adventure trips.
He is a sophomore at Joseph Badger School in Kinsman, and he volunteers at the National Packard Museum.

BSB TO HOST BLITZ: Beginning at 9 a.m. today, the Boot Scootin' Buckeyes are holding their first Buckeye Blitz open Equestrian Drill Team competition at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds.
Teams of horses and riders perform complicated drill maneuvers on horseback, set to music. The event will begin with color guard, with mandatory flag etiquette, and include quadrille and freestyle events.
A theatrical theme class will be offered, in which teams can essentially perform a play on horseback with music supporting the theme. There also will be the first Ohio State Drill Championship class, open only to 4-H teams of six or more riders, sponsored by Richard Laukhart.
The BSB 4H Equestrian Drill Team has won gold medals at numerous national and international events. They have placed in the top five at the 2013 Super Ride World Drill Championship in Lindale, Texas.
