Rib fest debuts in Burton
A Rib Burn Off is planned from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Century Village Museum, 14653 E. Park St., Burton.
The inaugural event will feature Eli's BBQ of Warren, Blazin' Bills of Burton, Old Carolina BBQ of Mentor, Stewart's Smokin' BBQ of Kirtland and Dickey's BBQ of Mentor competing for trophies for best ribs and sauce as well as a people's choice award. Live music will include Fletch and the Catch, The Geauga Highlanders and The Ted Riser Band on Saturday and 2Guys12Strings and Blue Lunch on Sunday.

Dulci-More Festival celebrates 20 years
The 20th Dulci-More Festival runs this weekend at BSA Camp McKinley, 37748 Furnace Road, Lisbon.
Evening concerts at the folk and traditional music festival will include Stephen Seifert and Mark Alan Wade on Friday, Dan Dandrum and Bing Futch on Saturday and Mustard's Retreat and Bob Zentz on Sunday. Daytime mini-concerts and workshops are planned on Saturday and Sunday.
Evening concerts start at 7 p.m. and the daytime activities start at 9 a.m.. Tickets are $10 for each evening concert, $8 each day for daytime events and $35 for weekend pass. For more information, call 234-564-3852.
First Night Yougstown seeks performers
First Night Youngstown is seeking performing artists to help ring in its 15th New Year's Eve Celebration of the Arts on Dec. 31.
Performing artists of all types are needed, including poetry and children readings, jugglers, clowns, bands, soloist, puppetry, mascots, comedians, crafts, street performers, impersonators, mimes and dancers. Also needed are ice carvers and individuals with a horse and carriage. All entertainers and/or performers will be paid.
