Rail disaster is topic of talk

SPEAKER TO DISCUSS RAILROAD DISASTER: The Kinsman Historical Society will host Len Brown at 7:30 p.m. today at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St. Brown, owner of Beacon Productions, will provide an update on the documentary, "Ashtabula Railroad Bridge Disaster," which will be filmed locally. Society members are asked to bring a covered dish to the event for a meal at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. From 2 to 6 p.m. today will be a live action demonstration and display of "Engineering Tragedy: The Ashtabula Train Disaster" at the Kinsman Free Public Library. The working scale model of the train and bridge will be shown by Gary Tabor, local resident and consultant on the documentary. Author Barbara Hamilton will be available to answer questions about the event she has researched. At the presentation people can learn about the documentary being filmed locally, production updates, and more from the film's director. Both events are free.
