WARREN - Charles L. Moore, 92, of Warren, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Windsor House of Champion.
He was born Aug. 19, 1921 in Newton Falls, a son of Marjorie Purbaugh.
He married Hazel Baker Moore on Dec. 22, 1945 with whom he spent 41 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 1986.
He was employed as a machinist/group leader at Brainard Strapping for more than 40 years before his retirement in 1982.
Charles was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
Charles was a member of Champion Christian Church. He enjoyed camping, traveling, mechanics, puttering in the garage, old cars and was a member of the Antique Studebaker Club. Above all he loved his family and the time he spent with them.
Charles leaves behind his two sons, David (Kay) Moore of Cortland and Philip (Joyce) Moore of Diamond. Also surviving are his three granddaughters, Rebecca (Halen) Crouch, Melissa Moore and Caryn Moore; two grandsons Scott (Melissa) Moore and Kevin (Allison) Moore; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Delbert Moore; mother, Marjorie Purbaugh, his wife Hazel Moore and four half-brothers.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Ken Hopkins will officiate.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery, Champion, with military honors provided by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
