BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Frederick O. Gurney, 96, formerly of Hubbard, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at his home.
He was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Minerva, the son of Otho and Edith Lozier Gurney.
Mr. Gurney retired from Republic Steel. He served with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Corner House Christian Church.

He leaves a son, David C. Gurney of New Haven, Ind.; daughter, Carol Brumlow of Bowling Green; five stepchildren, Janice Sanders of Kokomo, Ind., Marilyn Jacobs of Hubbard, Carol Balluch of Sharon, Pa., Jerry Coxson and David Coxson, both of Hubbard; four grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Mildred Ward; his second wife, the former Blanche Richards; a brother; a grandson; a stepgrandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Corner House Christian Church in Hubbard. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in Corner House Cemetery.
