COLUMBUS - The state says Ohio's unemployment rate dropped in April to the lowest level in more than six years.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said Friday the seasonally adjusted rate in April was 5.7 percent, which was down from 6.1 percent in March. It's the state's lowest jobless rate since the same rate in February 2008.

Ohio's rate remains below the national rate, which fell to 6.3 percent in April from 6.7 percent in March.

The number of unemployed workers in Ohio in April was 328,000, down 26,000 from 354,000 in March.
