Wed. 8:50 pm: Severe weather warning issued for southwest Trumbull

May 14, 2014
Tribune Chronicle

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southwest Trumbull County until 9:15 p.m. It's the latest in a series of severe storm warning issued this afternoon and evening.

A tornado watch for all of Trumbull, Mahoning, Ashtabula, Columbiana and Portage counties remains in effect until 9 p.m. today. The watch means that conditions are favorable for a severe weather situation.

The weather service has also listed a flood watch for the entire area as another round of heavy storms is set to hit tonight. The ground is saturated from heavy rains over the past few days and a low pressure system is expected to hit tonight, the service said. Trumbull County could see another one to three inches of rain this evening and Thursday so flooding of roads, streams, creek and rivers is likely. The flood watch is in effect through Friday.
