BOARDMAN - Alice L. Wise, 88, died at 2:55 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Belmont Avenue, from complications following surgery.
She was born in Niles on Aug. 23, 1925, the daughter of Julius and Ruth Hall Brasher.
Alice was employed at Wean United for 25 years in the accounting department, and retired in 1987. She also was employed for Republic Steel Co. and the American Red Cross.
She was a member of the Niles First Christian Church, Ida McKinley Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of Niles and the Saxon Club of Youngstown, and graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1943.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Daniel; three great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jayne Roth, all of Niles; and caregivers, Carla Danes of Akron, Betty Jean Smith of Youngstown and Daiva Miller of Mineral Ridge.
Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lewis, whom she married Sept. 19, 1946, and who died Nov. 25, 1968, and William Wise, whom she married July 1973, and who died Dec. 14, 1982; and two sons, Robert Lewis on Jan. 1, 1980, and Christopher Lewis on April 17, 2002.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Niles City Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bernard Oakes officiating.
