WARREN -- Trumbull County Commissioner Frank Fuda started strong and finished that way, too, on Tuesday to easily win the Democratic nomination for commissioner.
Fuda jumped out to a 74.2 percent to 25.8 percent lead over Hubbard Councilwoman Lisha Pompili-Baumiller, and held on to that advantage through the night to end up winning 70 percent to 30 percent.
His victory over Pompili-Baumiller sets up a November challenge with Patricia Hale Paridon of McDonald, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary election. Fuda is seeking his third term as commissioner.
"I was fortunate to have a lot of good people, really, and when you have good people working with you, good things happen," Fuda said.
The tally in the race is unofficial and incomplete. Final results must be certified the board of elections by May 27.
