Tue., 8:27 pm: Incumbents on top in early results

Early results from the Trumbull County Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State show that incumbent office holders are in control.

In the 13th and 14th U.S. Congressional Districts:

- U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan of Howland is leading John Stephen Luchansky, 87 percent to 12 percent for the Democratic nomination.

- In the 14th District Republican primary, U.S. Rep. Dave Joyce is leading state Rep. Matt Lynch, 64 percent to 35 percent.

- Locally, In the 63rd House District Democratic race, Sean O'Brien is leading Marianne James, 72 percent to 27 percent.

- For Trumbull County commissioner, Frank Fuda is besting Lisha Pompili-Baumiller, 74 percent to 25 percent.

In races for vacant seats, Michael J. O'Brien, with 71 percent of the vote, is leading a three-way race involving Eugene Mach, 3 percent and Ken MacPherson, 25 percent, for the Democratic nomination in the 64th District Ohio House race.

The three-way Probate Court judge race is being led by attorney James A. Fredericka, who has gotten 55 percent of the vote so far. Attorneys Patricia Leopardi Knepp and William Flevares have received 35 percent and 8 percent.
