VIENNA - J. Darryl "Happy" James Jr., 51, of Vienna, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 1, 2014.
Darryl was born on April 7, 1963, in Columbus, a son of James Darryl and Carla Kathleen Clark James of Vienna.
He was a 1982 graduate of Mathews High School in Vienna.
Darryl was a long distance truck driver for many years and was currently employed by Aspen Manor Resort in Wellsburg, W.Va., and Sharon Speedway.
He loved working Pit Security with his son Josh at Sharon Speedway. He was active in his son's lives with Boy Scouts, 4-H, and was a coach with their Little League baseball team.
His passion was the outdoors, in which he enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, motorcycling and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Darryl A. James, Vienna, and Josh M. James, Brookfield; a granddaughter, Hailey D. Neuman; a grandson, Aiden M. James; and a brother, Michael L. James, West Palm Beach, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the Hartford Community Church on state Route 7 in Hartford, with Pastor Gary Meikle officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the memorial service.
Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna.
