One of the finalist for the Youngstown State University presidency, Southern Oregon University President Mary Cullinan, received a no confidence vote from faculty there.
According to the Ashland Daily Tidings in Medford, Ore., 63 percent of the Southern Oregon faculty cast a no-confidence vote in Cullinan last month. It takes 66 percent for removal proceedings to begin.
In her application letter to YSU, Cullinan said she works closely with faculty and staff and believes n ``shared governance.'' According to the Daily Tidings, some Southern Oregon faculty expressed frustration that Cullinan bypassed shared governance and made too many unilateral decisions without faculty input.
