AUSTINTOWN -- Police removed two middle school students from a bus this morning after a parent called to report that his son had been threatened by another child.
The parent told the principal of Austintown Middle School that the other student had threatened "to commit an act of violence involving a weapon against his son on the bus ride to school," according to a news released issued by the Austintown Schools.
Township police stopped the bus on South Raccoon Road and removed two students. However, no weapons were found, officials reported.
According to the news release, the "seriousness of the situation was the result of escalating conversations through social media, which occurred off of school premises."
School official said follow up information will be available pending the outcome of investigations by the school district and Austintown police department.
