HOWLAND - Joseph A. Vendemia, 57, of Howland, formerly of Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, April 27, 2014, while on a golfing trip with his son in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Joe was born on Aug. 16, 1957, in Sharon, Pa., the son of Joseph P. and Mary H. Tomko Vendemia.

Joseph A. Vendemia
He was deeply devoted to his family, as was evident through his endless desire for hosting holidays and special occasions at home.
Joe was a role model and father figure to many, and a friend to many more. He had a unique ability to make people feel the genuine interest he had in their lives.
Joe loved his home that he and his wife, Debbie, shared. One of his favorite pastimes was putting his carpentry skills to work in ambitious projects around the house. He was passionate about weekend getaways and fun outings with his wife, golfing with his son, and being active in his daughters' and sons-in-law's lives on a daily basis.
He cherished visiting his son, Joe, in New York City, daily chats with his daughter, Melanie, and anything at all that included spending time with and helping to raise his grandchildren.
Joe's legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren and all others he's touched throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, the former Deborah I. Campana, whom he married on March 5, 2005; his son, Joseph C. Vendemia of New York, N.Y.; daughter, Melanie L. (Chad) Smith of Brookfield; stepdaughters, Natalie (Tony) Pacheco of Warren, Christa Ross of Sandusky and Courtney Ross of Alexandria, Va.; his sister, Darlene (Ed) Nacey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and by his three grandsons, Anthony, Brayden and Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Janine Lynne (Spencer) Vendemia, whom he married Jan. 23, 1976, and who passed away on July 5, 2001.
A celebration of Joe's life will begin with a viewing at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the North-Mar Church, 3855 E. Market St., Warren, OH 44484, and a memorial service to begin at noon with Pastor Myron Daum officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brookfield Township Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes in Brookfield.
Donations may be made to the Janine Vendemia Cancer Fund, in care of the Shenango Valley Foundation, 7 W. State St., Suite 301, Sharon, PA 16146.
