Police activity reported in Newton Falls March 26-April 23:
April 23, 4:47 a.m. - Resident on Bridge Street reported his neighbor's truck woke him up. An officer found that the truck owner was warming up his diesel truck prior to going to work. He drove away after speaking with the officer.
April 22, 5:28 p.m. - Someone reported an unwanted person at 75 Trumbull Court. Kevin Hughes, 216 E. Broad St., was charged with burglary and criminal trespass.
8:26 a.m. - Someone reported a domestic disturbance on South Canal Street.
April 21, 10:05 a.m. - Criminal damaging was reported at 310 Ravenna Road.
April 20, 11:20 p.m. - A burning complaint was reported at 123 Bane Ave.
April 19, 1:59 p.m. - Someone reported a domestic disturbance at 75 Trumbull Court.
April 18, 11:10 a.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at the Dental Associates.
7:47 a.m. - An alarm was reported at the high school.
April 17, 9:25 p.m. - A resident at 123 Bane reported a Rottweiler was on her porch and growling at her.
5:47 p.m. - A resident at 120 Olive St. reported her neighbor spray-painted her fence.
April 16, 9:39 p.m. - Someone reported that two females were using drugs in the women's restroom at McDonald's. Officers found two females hiding in the bathroom stalls, and found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the restroom. Tanya Jo Bierer, 8972 Maple Grave, Apt. A, Windham, and Heidi May Sexton, 125 N. Sycamore, Ravenna, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice. Other charges are pending.
7:21 a.m. - Someone reported a 10-year-old was left home alone at 35 W. Church St. The boy told police that he is left alone every day from 6 to 8 a.m., when he is to go to the bus stop. Donna Jean Griffin, same address, was charged with child endangering.
April 15, 11:32 a.m. - A suspicious person was reported at the General Assembly Church of God.
7:38 a.m. - An alarm was reported at General Assembly Church of God.
April 14, 10:05 a.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at Shop n' Save
April 12, 11:44 p.m. - Drug activity was reported on Newton Drive.
3:18 p.m. - Resident at 717 Park Ave. reported a black-and-white dog with a shock collar was running loose. He stated he caught the dog and put it in his garage.
12:51 p.m. - A Trumbull County sheriff's deputy reported he was out with an occupied vehicle at St. Mary's Social Center. The driver of the vehicle was sleeping. He was checked for impairment and sent on his way.
April 11, 2:30 p.m. - A resident at 27 W. Sixth St. reported a generator was stolen from his garage.
12:45 p.m. - A theft report was taken at Ace Hardware.
April 10, 8:52 p.m. - The owner of Falls Car Wash reported someone stole the change machine from the dog wash area.
April 9, 9:09 p.m. - A resident at 802 Newton Drive reported that someone damaged the stereo speakers in his truck.
8:21 p.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Warren Road and Main Street.
5:39 p.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at the high school.
April 7, 8:18 p.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at Shop n' Save.
2:23 p.m. - A resident in the 300 block of Milton Boulevard reported her husband struck her with a belt two days ago. She since left the residence. An investigation pending.
April 6, 7:24p.m. - A resident reported that his son was assaulted at the city park by a male wearing a black shirt, black shorts and purple shoes.
April 5, 11:50 p.m. - A landlord at 36 E. Broad St. reported that someone broke out one of the upstairs windows.
9:31 p.m. - A resident at 323 Washington reported six or seven juveniles keep ringing her doorbell.
6:06 p.m. - Someone reported a person was stealing liquor from Falls Convenient. Brandon L. Young was taken into custody on outstanding arrest warrants out of West Virginia and on suspicion of shoplifting. An investigation is pending.
11:21 a.m. - Report of juveniles setting a shed on fire at Direct International. Officers alerted the fire department and searched the area for the juveniles, but were unable to locate them.
April 4, 4:13 p.m. - Vandalism was reported at the city park, where officers said someone spray-painted the basketball courts. Officers charged Matt Scott, 802A Newton Drive, with criminal mischief.
11:17 a.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at Newton and Maple Drives.
12:48 a.m. - A resident at 332 North Center reported he was assaulted by several individuals at he intersection of Franklin St. and North Canal. Jamie Wiland, 5089 McClintocksburg Road, was charged with felonious assault.
April 3, 9:03 p.m. - Russell Balch, 83 Maple Drive, was arrested on a warrant charging failure to appear.
10:30 a.m. - A resident at 3 Mahoning Court reported he loaned his car to a friend yesterday and she has failed to return it.
6:33 a.m. - A possible domestic was reported at 1009 Newton Drive. Officers found it was a verbal dispute between girlfriend and boyfriend.
April 2, 6:31 p.m. - Someone reported an intoxicated juvenile at the city park. Officers located the juvenile and charged him with underage drinking and possession of cigarettes.
6:18 a.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at West Broad Street and South Canal Street.
12:23 a.m. - Noise complaint was reported at 731 N. Canal. Officer found the music was coming from Apartment 1. The people inside shut the music off when the officer knocked, but refused to answer the door.
April 1, 9:42 a.m. - A resident at 14 E. Franklin reported her neighbor's dog attacked and injured her dog.
March 31, 10:33 a.m. - School resource officer received a tip of a student possessing marijuana. The student admitted to having the marijuana and told the officer where it was. The 13-year-old student was charged with possession of marijuana and possessing a knife on school property.
March 29, 12:44 a.m. - An unwanted person was reported at 520 W. River Blvd. Officers found it was dispute between a brother and sister. The brother agreed to leave for the night.
March 28, 3:23 p.m. - A vehicle with loud music was reported at the city park. Officer located the vehicle and gave the driver a warning. A short time later, the officer observed the same subject driving on Milton Boulevard with his radio blaring. He stopped the vehicle and cited Zack Peaco, 1499 Beachview Drive, Lake Milton, with violating the city's noise ordinance.
2:49 p.m. - A resident at 30 Mahoning Court reported someone tried to open a cable TV account in her name.
11:56 a.m. - A resident at 448 LeMae reported someone used his Social Security number to file income taxes.
10:56 a.m. - A resident at 77 Bridge St. reported someone stole her bird feeder.
9:56 a.m. - Someone reported a student in possession of drugs at the high school. The 17-year-old student was charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also removed from the school.
March 27, 10:42 p.m. - A resident at 802 Newton Drive reported someone broke into his Dodge truck and stole four new speakers and an amplifier. The driver-side had been pried open.
7:05 p.m. - A resident at 138 Ridge Road reported the side door to her residence was wide open upon her arrival home from work. Officers said there was no sign of forced entry and nothing was missing from the home.
12:12 p.m. - A resident at 62 Mahoning Court reported that her daughter stole her prescription medicine.
10:27 a.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Arlington Road.
March 26, 8:32 a.m. - Someone reported that a semi took down a utility pole at Direct International. The driver, Ivan Gotra, 5686 Broadview Cleveland, was cited with reckless operation.
