NELSON - James W. Hoffman, 68, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on July 15, 1945, in Lake Milton, he was the son of the late William and Florence Doak Hoffman.
A resident of Nelson Township the past 45 years, he had been employed by BASF as a fork lift operator, retiring after 44 years of service.
He loved the outdoors, four-wheeling, hunting and fishing, and going to swap meets. Spending time with his family and Ford trucks were also special to him.
On Aug. 15, 1968, he married his loving wife of 45 years, Marilyn (Bell) Hoffman, who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children, Jimmy Hoffman and Kelly (Harold) Reynolds, both of Southington, Michael Hoffman of Mantua and Debby (Steve) Miller of Garrettsville; seven grandchildren, Craig, Kyle, Nathan, Cole, Corey, Sarah and Samantha; his brother, Dale (Karen) Hoffman of Southington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, state Route 44 at 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, where his funeral service will begin at 7 p.m.
Cremation will follow.
