EARTH DAY EVENT SET AT DOG PARK: An Earth Day cleanup will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Mosquito Lake Dog Park off Route 305 in Cortland. The dog park is located off of the main entrance of the park.
PROGRAM ON CIVIL WAR: The program for the Cortland-Bazetta Historical Society's annual dinner at 6:30 p.m. today at the Opera House in Cortland, has changed due to illness of the speaker. Resident Sally Lane will present a PowerPoint "Scrapbook of Cortland History," which ties in recent donations of local Civil War memorabilia and other historical items. A potuck precedes the program. All are welcome to attend both the dinner and program. If not attending the dinner, the program will begin at 7:30 p.m. The program will be different since the society has received several items from the community, and want to display them and tell their stories.
HUBBARD TO PRESENT PLAY: The Hubbard High School drama club will present "The Wizard of Oz" at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the high school auditorium. Tickets will be available at the door.

EVENT HONORS VOLUNTEERS: The Foster Grandparents Program of Mahoning and Trumbull counties held its annual recognition event this week in Youngstown, where it honored 46 volunteers and aides for their work in schools and with the Head Start programs. Speaker was Youngstown Schools superintendent Connie Hathorn.
GROUP TO HELP AT EVENT: Earth Angel Farm and the Garrett Wonders Memorial Fund Earth Day celebration will be held from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Western Reserve Greenway Bike Trail, state Route 305 in Champion. The walk or roll event will help promote multiple sclerosis awareness and bicycle safety. Artwork from the winners will be displayed at the Nissen Gallery. For information, call 330-856-5003.
