WARREN - Tula Ahladis, 87, formerly of Warren, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Gillette Nursing Home.
Tula was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of Elias and Mary Lampros.
She was a graduate of Youngstown Rayan High School. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Fourni Club and the Acardians Club.
Tula enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, baby-sitting and her pets. She loved playing piano, and as a youngster, she played at Stambaugh Auditorium.
She is survived by her three children, Angie (George) Bournias of Warren, Louis Ahladis of Warren and Anthony (Laurie) Ahladis of Coral Springs, Fla.; five grandchildren, Tula (John) Laos and Michael Ahladis of Athens, Greece, Kaitlin (Josh) Goody of Columbus, Terry Bournias of Warren and Alexander Ahladis of Tallahassee, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Scenia Laos, and Jacob Michael Goody; and two sisters, Helen Hart of Chicago and Tina Valantasis of Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael Ahladis, whom she married June 29, 1947, and who passed away July 22, 1993; a son, Nicholas Ahladis; and one sister, Melba Revelas.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday with a 5 p.m. Trisagion Service and also from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
A service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tula's name to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St., Warren, OH 44481.
